My Grandmother

Well, my grandmother passed away yesterday.  She was 96.  I think she lived a good, full and long life.. I will miss her very much, but she is with my mother now, and my baby Noah.  So I try to remember the happy things - In May, I went and picked her up from my Uncle's house in Ohio and brought her to my house in Virginia for a week.  We  played scrabble, and her favorite card game.  When I was little and we played cards, she would say "shot a monkeys butt" when her hand wasn't quite as good as she thought it should have been, although she swears she didn't teach me that...  We sat on my front porch and swang and watched the birds and the squirrels.  She wasn't always sure who I was, but when I told her that I loved her, that was all she needed to hear.  When I was a little girl, and I had to stay home from school, she would always cover me up on the couch and make me chocolate milk and cinnamon toast...But for that week I got to take care of her.  At night I would help her with her pajamas, and tuck her into bed.. It was a very wonderful week.
